Lewis G. Pace (“Chuck”)

Lewis G. Pace (“Chuck”), a resident of Stamford, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2021 at the age of 80. He was a loving brother, uncle, granduncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Chuck was born in Rye, New York on April 6, 1941, to the late Joseph and Rose Marie Pace of Stamford, Connecticut.

He attended Pace University where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, becoming a certified public accountant. Chuck worked as a CPA for over 40 years before his retirement in 2019. He was always appreciative of the education he received at Pace and remained an active alumnus. Upon graduation, he worked for many years as a principal at Haskins and Sells, later known as Deloitte. He moved on from Deloitte to become a partner and Chief Financial Officer in an advertising firm. Always one for creativity, the job perfectly aligned many of his strengths. He ultimately went into private practice as a CPA until his retirement in 2019.

A true gentleman, his greatest passion in life was caring for others. He was an American patriot and loved his country, serving six years in the Army Reserves. Chuck was a devote Catholic who lived his faith. He was a Lector and Eucharistic Minister at Sacred Heart Church, he was on the Catholic Regional School’s Board of Education, including serving as president, and worked with the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County. But above all, he especially cared for his family and loved celebrating life’s special events with them. Chuck was a master at giving parties and a brilliant public speaker. He hosted countless holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, communions, graduations and other celebrations for his beloved family and friends and was always the life of the party. He loved cultural experiences including travel and opera; and was a fantastic dancer, winning many ballroom dancing contests including the famous Harvest Moon Ball. It was never a true celebration without him.

He is survived by his beloved family and friends, including his sister Rita Magyar (brother-in-law Charles) and brother William Pace; his niece Jenifer Bologna (Peter) and nephews Michael Magyar (Ruth) and Justin Pace (Carrie Ann) for whom he was a “second father;” and grandnephews Andrew, Alex and Matthew Bologna and Sean and Ryan Magyar and step-grandniece Adriana Magyar for whom he was a “second grandfather.” He also is survived by his aunt Terry Serricchio, cousin Michael Billone (Christine), and many cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved brother Joseph Pace, his aunts Jo-Anne Adipietro (Vincent), Christine Billone (Charles), Fanny Dombrowski (John) and uncles Vincent Viscardi and Al Serricchio.

To honor Chuck’s life, family and friends will gather on Thursday, October 7, 2021, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Ave., in Stamford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Ave., Stamford, CT.

We are grateful to Drs. Katsigiannis, Nero, and Velazquez for all the care they provided him over the years and especially for the dear friends he made at Selleck Woods in Darien, where he lived for the last two months.
