STAMFORD — Two teenagers have been arrested on accusations they were involved in an armed robbery that ended with a 51-yearold man being shot in the city’s South End, according to police.

Police arrested a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl in recent days in connection to an armed robbery that occurred on Oct. 1.

Capt. Richard Conklin said police responded to the 600 block of Pacific Street around 2:30 a.m. Friday on reports of a 51-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm.

Conklin said the man said he was walking in the area when a group of five youths approached him, displayed two guns and demanded he hand over cash. The man told police that when he refused, the group members attacked him, stole his money and then shot him before fleeing the scene, according to Conklin.

First arriving police officers applied a tourniquet to the man’s arm, Conklin said. He was later transported to Stamford Hospital.

The female teen was arrested Tuesday and charged with firstdegree assault, first-degree robbery, conspiracy at first-degree assault, conspiracy at first-degree robbery and second-degree larceny.

The male teen, who police said they believe to be the shooter, was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with first-degree assault, first-degree robbery, conspiracy at first-degree assault, conspiracy at first-degree robbery, carrying a pistol without a permit, unlawful discharge of a firearm and seconddegree larceny.

Both teens were remanded to the custody of the Juvenile Detention Center in Bridgeport.

Conklin said detectives are still investigating the incident and more arrests are expected in the future.
