Abilis hosting two-day job fair to fill over 70 openings

GREENWICH — With more than 70 jobs to fill, the Greenwich-based nonprofit Abilis is preparing to host a two-day job fair next week.

Prospectiv­e employees and job seekers are encouraged to attend the Abilis Job Fair and interview on-site for open positions from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Abilis Therapy Center, 1150 Summer St. in Stamford, and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 14 at the Abilis headquarte­rs at 50 Glenville St. in Greenwich.

“Abilis has been an integral part of Fairfield County for 70 years providing services and supports for our special needs community,” said Amy Montimurro, CEO and president of Abilis.

The open positions can be reviewed at abilis.us/getinvolve­d/jobs.html. The Job Fair is open for drop-ins. No registrati­on is required. Interviews will be conducted on-site; light refreshmen­ts will be served. To learn more, call 203-5311880.

“This past year, we have experience­d rapid growth serving the 800 individual­s with special needs and their families and expanded our programs and services in towns such as Greenwich, Darien, Norwalk, Stamford, Ridgefield and Westport,” said Montimurro. “We’ve expanded programs and services as the needs of the community have grown, so we are hiring to help fill these wonderful and fulfilling positions.”

Abilis serves individual­s with special needs from birth throughout their lives.

Job openings are in different areas of its programs and services, including therapists for the Abilis Therapy Center; life coaches in the LEAP program in Darien, Norwalk, Westport and Wilton; counselors; occupation­al and physical therapists; behavioral supports; residentia­l and food service positions; and more.

Full- and part-time positions include management and assistant management roles, profession­al and hourly roles.

Applicants should bring their resumes and be prepared to be interviewe­d during the job fair. In compliance with the executive order from the state of Connecticu­t as of Sept. 27, all Abilis employees must present CDC proof of full vaccinatio­n against COVID-19 upon date of hire.
