NEW CANAAN – The town had four reported COVID-19 cases last week, down from 12 positive residents the week before.

The four cases are all “mild cases and are due to large event and travel exposure except the origin of one case is not yet known,” First Selectman Kevin Moynihan said during his weekly address Thursday. The cases range in age from 10 to 60 years old, his update said. The count does not include students away at college.

There are three Saxe Middle School students who tested positive for COVID-19, according to the dashboard on the school district’s website on Friday. Fourteen students are being quarantined, three who attend New Canaan High School, eight middle school students, two East School pupils and one at West School.

The Health Department is planning vaccine clinics for residents who are eligible for a third Pfizer booster or those over 12 who wish to receive a vaccine. The clinic will be held at Irwin House, located at 848 Weed Street on Thursday, Oct. 14. Residents can register using the Sign Up Genius link. Both Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are currently available.

COVID-19 testing will also be done at Irwin House for residents and Town employees.

Pre-registration is required for Tuesday and Thursday, Oct. 12 and 14 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Residents who have received the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine should get a booster shot if they are 65 years and older or have underlying medical conditions or an increased risk of exposure to coronavirus because of their occupational or institutional setting.

Residents who have received vaccines are asked to bring their vaccination cards, or print out from VAMS or CT WIZ.
