Valentine ‘here for the long haul’
Dear editor
Without question, Bobby Valentine is the best candidate to serve as Stamford’s next mayor.
First, Bobby’s love and commitment to Stamford has been evident throughout his life. Although his accomplishments have taken him far and wide, he has always made Stamford his home and his passion. He has unfailingly given back to this community and has generously donated his time and energy to countless local charities and institutions.
As a product of the Stamford Public Schools, he learned at a young age to embrace people from all stations in life. Later in his years as a player, coach and manager, he carried the lessons he learned in Stamford to his work with players of every background and national origin.
To Bobby, diversity has never been just a word. It has been a way of life. The concept of teamwork and bringing different people together are embedded in Bobby’s character and will serve him well as the leader of this city.
As a final and significant point, Bobby has chosen to run as “Unaffiliated,” a choice that undoubtedly makes his quest more challenging but is one that goes to the root of who is and has always been. It is no secret that Bobby has a track record as being an independent thinker and one who will not be beholding to others. If elected, he will not be a servant of political parties, partisan agendas or political ambitions. He will be a leader who is driven by what is best for the citizens of Stamford.
In voting for Bobby Valentine, you will not be getting politics as usual. You will be voting for someone who is here for the long haul and who will place the interests of Stamford above party or political aspirations.
