Roberta Frances Ratcliff (nee Fordyce) was born June 17, 1935, in Greenville, PA. She was the oldest daughter of six children of Frances Eastlake Fordyce and William Robert Fordyce.

She attended St. Michael’s High School in Greenville, PA and graduated in 1953. Roberta graduated from Thiel College in 1957 with a BS in Business Education. She taught at John Marshall High School in Cleveland from 1957-1963. She married Calvin E. Ratcliff on July 15, 1961. They resided in Stamford, CT. She received a master’s degree in counseling the aged from the University of Bridgeport, CT, in 1984. She was a social worker at Pilgrim Tower in Stamford from 1982-1989 and later was Executive Director of Senior Services of Stamford. Upon retirement, the couple returned to Lakewood, OH.

Survived by her beloved husband, Calvin, and three sisters, Mary Mamajek of Hermitage, PA, Sarah Williams of Greenville, PA and Deborah Mariacher also of Greenville, PA: one brother, William Fordyce of Garrettsvi­lle,

OH. Also survived by her nephews, Donald Ratcliff of Durango, CO and William Ratcliff of Truckee, CA. Predecease­d by her parents and her brother, John Fordyce. She passed at home on March 25, 2024.

Funeral Service 12 noon on Tuesday, April 2, at the McGorray-Hanna Funeral Home of Lakewood, 14133 Detroit Avenue, where friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment at Lakewood Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributi­ons to Lakewood Family Health Center, 14601 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood, OH 44107.
