Highland Park and Mansfield Timberview met in Week 11 with the Scots winning 42-7 to close out the regular season.

The Scots continued to showcase their dominance by scoring five times in only eight minutes of the Class 5A Division I regional round at the Ford Center on Saturday.

Led by Chandler Morris’ three first-half touchdown passes, No. 2 Highland Park defeated the Wolves, 52-7, to extend its winning streak to 28 games.

The Scots (13-0), who have won the 5A Division I state title each of the past two years, advance to the state quarterfinals to play the winner between John Tyler and Frisco Lone Star.

It took only two plays and 33 seconds to start the rout as Morris hit Finn Corwin for a 61-yard TD pass.

The Scots scored four plays later on a 1-yard TD run from Morris with 5:59 left in the period.

The Wolves ( 7-6), who reached the regional round for the first time since 2011, committed a third-straight turnover when they fumbled on the first play of their next drive and Gus Vincent recovered for the Scots.

Two plays later and Highland Park led 24-0 when Morris threw a 26- yard TD to Drew Scott with 5:10 on the clock.

Timberview punted on the ensuing drive and the Scots took a 31-0 lead with four minutes in the opening quarter on a 66-yard punt return for a touchdown by Corwin, who had six catches and 120 yards at halftime.

Highland Park added its sixth score of the half on its next drive — Morris’ 15-yard pass to Avery Lewis — with 7:05 before the break.

John Beecherl picked off a second Timberview pass attempt to end the first half and Hunter Heath added two TD runs in the second half — from 20 and 2 yards that made it 52-0.

Timberview avoided the shutout when quarterback Jordan Davis ran it in from 33 yards with 6:46 to play.
