Eddie was born on January 30, 1939, in Fort Worth Texas. He graduated from Poly High School in 1957. He attended his first year at Valparaiso University in Indiana, then returned to Fort Worth and married his high school sweetheart, Carole Graves Brandt. He graduated from Texas Wesleyan University while balancing being a father, husband and full time job at A. Brandt Company.

He worked diligently in the family furniture business until it closed in 1986. At almost 50 years old he partnered with friend Lee Rodriguez to create another successful furniture manufacturing company, Rodco-Brandt. This business flourished until his retirement in 2019 and at 80 years old he had more than earned it!

Eddie was never one to sit still and always excelled at anything athletic. He was a star basketball player in high school and transferred that talent to golf as he got older. He was an avid golfer and made many friends through the sport who proved to be lifelong. He loved anything involving water, which included beaches, skiing, scuba diving and boating of any sort. He owned many boats and only recently sold the last one.

Most people that knew Eddie knew him as a generous and kindhearted man. He seldom turned down a request from anyone in need and was always supportive of everyone to succeed in their life.

He was an animal lover and had many wonderful dogs throughout his life that he treated like his children.

He was raised in St Paul Lutheran Church and although he wasn’t there every Sunday his faith was an integral part of who he was. He attended several different churches of both Lutheran and Methodist denominations in recent years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Carole; his parents, George and Betsy Brandt; and his in-laws, Harold and Juanita Graves.

He is survived by his daughter, Kelly Brandt; his brother, Kirk Brandt (Pat); nephews, Keith Brandt (Rebecca), Allen Brandt (Alison), Kyle Brandt (Sarah); great-nephews, John, Luke, Aiden and Gus; great-nieces, Avery, Katie and Ellie; and his beloved dog, Max.

He will be greatly missed by his family and all his wonderful friends.
