She has quickly become one of the most indemand models around since making her Fashion Week debut last year. But it seems that success has come at a painful price for 17-year-old Kaia Gerber. Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber’s gorgeous baby girl appears to be wasting away, and sources fear she could be struggling with an eating disorder. “Kaia’s career has taken off in a way she couldn’t have imagined and it’s a lot for her to deal with as such a young age,” says an insider. “She’s shrugging off her weight loss as being down to stress, but the concern is that she could be afraid to eat.” Kaia insists she loves pizza and doesn’t “go a day without eating pasta,” but a picture is worth a thousand denials. The teen looked spindly and sickly during a recent day out, and even her famous mom says she’s worried that Kaia will give in to the pressures of the industry. “The expectation is for them to be even thinner now,” the supermodel has revealed. “I was always a size 6; I was never super-skinny, and I never felt bad about it. You could have boobs, you could have hips, you could have a little extra flesh. Now, the models are expected to be so much thinner.” And as the teenager looks more withered than ever, sources believe her parents are growing increasingly concerned. “If she’s afraid to eat, that’s obviously a major cause for concern,” says the family friend. “She has a bright future ahead of her, so everyone just wants her to be happy and healthy.”
