Life almost imitated art for the show’s star. After Murphy Brown’s decade-long run, CBS approached Candice, now 72, to join 60 Minutes, but she declined their offer. “I don’t have regrets,” she’s said, not wanting to blur the lines between actor and journalist at the time. She continued to act on Broadway and in flicks like Bride Wars and the recent middle-age rom-com Book Club (below) alongside Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda and Mary Steenburgen.
