What’s the skinny on Bethenny Frankel? The Real Housewives of New York City star drew gasps at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, where she managed to look puny even in comparison to the willowy models! “Anyone can see her clothes are falling off her,” frets a friend close to the 48-yearold Skinnygirl mogul, who has had a rough few years. Not only did her bitter divorce and protracted custody battle with Jason Hoppy wreak havoc on her life, in August her on-off boyfriend Dennis Shields died of a drug overdose, leaving the reality star bereft. And her emotional anguish is taking its toll on her body. “Bethenny was devastated when Dennis died. Deep down, she feels guilty and powerless that she couldn’t do anything to help him,” confides the insider, saying Bethenny is haunted that she declared Dennis wasn’t Mr. Right on RHONY just days before his shocking death. “She hasn’t been able to eat or sleep since it happened,” sighed the source. “She knows she’s lost an extreme amount of weight, but that’s all due to grief. She has no appetite. Food doesn’t appeal to her. She’s depressed and grieving.” Subsisting on a packet of nuts, stalks of celery and hot lemon water, distraught Bethenny has turned a healthy pastime into an obsession. “The only thing that takes her mind off things is exercise, but it’s surprising she has the energy. At this point, she’s burning more calories than she’s consuming,” laments the pal. “Her friends are worried, because she’s getting scrawnier by the day. This has been so tough on her, everyone just wants to see her happy and healthy.”
