With World of Dance, The Voice and America’s Got Talent — just to name a few — there’s certainly no shortage of competition shows on TV. But American Idol mastermind Nigel Lythgoe is convinced that audiences are hungry to see Hugh Jackman on a judging panel, and he’s crafting a new series around the hunky Aussie actor! “He sees Hugh as the ultimate feel-good judge, and they both share a love of dance, so they’ve been kicking around some ideas,” says a source close to Nigel, who also serves as a judge on So You Think You Can Dance. “Hugh’s 50 and realizing his days doing stuntheavy action flicks are numbered, so going in a different direction and tapping into his theatrical side might not be so bad. Plus, he loves mentoring up-and-coming actors, and he could potentially earn hundreds of thousands of dollars per episode.” Guess he really is the Greatest Showman!
