IT may come as a surprise to fans of Cameron Diaz that the rom-com queen of the early 2000s hasn’t appeared on the big screen since the 2014 box-office turkey Annie — but, after tying the knot with Benji Madden, sources tell Star, the reason behind her hiatus is because she’s been working toward a brighter Tomorrow. “She feels she’s done everything she could in her career and wants to be a full-time mom,” spills a close friend, adding that the 46-year-old’s lifelong dream is finally coming true. Star has learned a baby is on the way for the happy couple — and when they found out, adds our source, “they practically cried with joy!”

THERE’S SOMETHING ABOUT MOTHERHOOD In the past, Cameron wasn’t always sure she wanted to have kids, content with leading the Lifestyle of the Rich and Famous. But everything changed the moment she met the Good Charlotte rocker, 39, whom she married in 2015. “She feels so blessed to have found a man like Benji,” sings our source, adding that she knew the guitarist — who dotes on his twin brother Joel’s two kids with Nicole Richie — was daddy material the second she laid eyes on him. “They actually started trying before they got married because having a family became top priority,” spills our insider. “Benji has been her rock through all of this. He’s going to be the best father, she says.”

THE (HAPPY) HOLIDAY Though Cam deliberately took a break from Hollywood to focus her efforts elsewhere — even revealing she’s “actually retired” — sources whisper that her plan to become a parent was taking longer than expected. “It’s been a tough road, but after more than three years of IVF treatments, and even Chinese medicine, Cameron has found out she’s pregnant at last,” squeals the spy, adding that the news came just in time for Christmas. “When they got the results back from the last round of IVF, they were over the moon. And they’ve learned it’s a boy!” And because it’s the most wonderful time of the year, the insider adds that Cam and Benji have gone all-out on gifts and goodies for their forthcoming bundle of joy. “They’re getting their home ready for the baby,” dishes the pal, blabbing that the A-list actress has already bought a $12,000 Fendi stroller, a crib and a changing station from a high-end baby store in West Hollywood. “Money is no object when it comes to her little angel.” The couple just can’t contain their excitement, adds the source: “They’re talking about names too — they both want something that’s unique that goes with Madden. She’s waited her whole life for this, and she’s just so happy it’s finally here.”
