Tom Cruise’s New Year’s Reunion With Suri!
After years apart, the action star is finally ready to mend fences with his daughter.
TOM Cruise has a new Mission Impossible: win back his daughter Suri! Sources are spilling that six years after Katie Holmes escaped her marriage to the Scientology superstar, Tom has weaseled his way back into 12-year-old Suri’s life — after going more than 1,000 days without seeing her! The week before New Year’s, Katie, 40, and her longtime boyfriend Jamie Foxx, 51, spent a few days on a yacht in Miami. And while it looked like any other romantic getaway from afar, sources are spilling that the location was actually strategically chosen due to its proximity to Orlando — where photos were snapped of Tom and his children Connor, 24, and Isabella, 26, along with a little girl believed to be Suri! “Either that was Suri or she has an exact clone walking around in her clothes,” an eyewitness says. “They all seemed to be having a wonderful time, and Tom was very doting, very paternal toward her. Bella and Connor were enjoying themselves too. They all looked like one big family.”
TROUBLES The one person not included in that big happy family was Katie, who sources say fretted throughout her trip with Jamie, and kept her lawyers on speed dial. Her and Tom’s divorce settlement had always allowed for Tom to see Suri for 10 days out of every month, but in past years, Tom, 56, never took her up on it. “Tom’s had moments of attentiveness toward Suri since he and Katie split in 2012, and Katie’s never stopped Suri from seeing her dad, but she’s pretty stunned that Tom’s choosing now to be present in her life after all this time,” an insider says. “Besides his new pad in Orlando, he’s looking for a New York penthouse to lease so he can be closer to Suri.” Despite hopes that Tom has only benevolent intentions for reconnecting with his daughter, Katie reportedly fears that her ex might use Suri as a ploy to benefit the Church of Scientology are not unfounded. “The church has asked Tom to play nice with his kid — and then her mother,” one source says, while Katie’s camp denies Star’s story. “They don’t want to force Katie and Suri to go back to the religion, though that would be the dream. It’s more like they want Katie and Suri to passively coexist with the church so potential followers would be less suspicious.” Katie, however, doesn’t like any of it, adds the informant: “But she can’t bring herself to stand in the way of Tom and Suri’s relationship. It means so much to her little girl after missing her daddy for so long.”
