TALK about being caught in the middle. After losing her parents, Gloria (Rodriguez) heads to Tijuana for some much-needed QT with her best friend (Cristina Rodlo). But a girls’ night out takes a drastic turn when they find themselves in the middle of a shootout — and Gloria is abducted by a drug cartel and forced to assist their ringleader (Córdova)! However, she somehow manages a secret relationship with the DEA and soon finds herself the common denominator between the good guys and the bad guys. Not only does this thriller show how versatile the Jane the Virgin star can be, it also proves you shouldn’t mess with a strong, independent woman! “Women aren’t necessarily always portrayed as proactively trying to save ourselves in action films,” the actress says. “It’s very empowering to see those stories.”
