ON-SET SECRETS FROM THE HILLS

THE HILLS IS BACK, AND WHILE THERE ARE NEW CAST MEMBERS, THE NEVER-ENDING DRAMA REMAINS.

-

THE revival of The Hills promises New Beginnings, but some wounds never heal, especially when it comes to Stephanie Pratt, her brother, Spencer, and his wife, Heidi Montag. “We’re not on good terms. I don’t consider them my family,” Stephanie recently revealed, adding that there have been a multitude of issues between the three for years. And when asked if they’d ever be able to repair their relationship, she told Star at the show’s premiere party: “It’s just a simple no. Never.”

However, Spencer, 35, isn’t fazed by his 33-year-old sister’s bitter promise — and called her a “character” at the party held at Liaison in Los Angeles. “Stephanie and her accent have a lot in common,” he tweeted during the show’s premiere, “they’re both fake as hell.” Adds an insider: “Getting them in the same room together is a miracle in and of itself.”

But it’s not just long-standing grievances that have The Hills alive with the sound of drama. Newcomer Mischa Barton, whose show The O.C. inspired The Hills, has already made enemies with a handful of the 2006 original cast members, including Audrina Patridge and Whitney Port. According to an on-set source, Mischa, 33, “starts a lot of fake fights,” and Whitney and Audrina, both 34, are getting tired of her antics. “They don’t understand why she’s on the show to begin with,” the insider adds. But perhaps Whitney describes the tension best, saying that some things about the show will never change: “People can have deeply rooted issues with each other and not be able to just have mature conversations and get over it.”
