Prince Harry’s Million-Dollar Birthday Present for Duchess Meghan!

THREE months before her 37th birthday, Duchess Meghan became the newest member of the royal family; three months before her 38th, she became a first-time mom to Archie Mountbatten-Windsor. Between the joys (and challenges!) of parenthood, her hands-on charity work and a constant slew of royal obligations alongside husband Prince Harry, Meghan is overdue for some downtime to relax — and celebrate — when her birthday arrives on Aug. 4. According to a Star insider, it’ll be quite the summer shindig. “Meghan’s party will cost around $1 million,” reveals a palace source. “Harry is set on throwing his wife the best birthday she’s ever had.”
DOUBLE BILL
When it comes to his admiration for Meghan, Harry, 34, has never been shy. Shortly after welcoming Archie on May 6, he told reporters: “How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension.” Now the Duke of Sussex is planning to show Meghan just how much he appreciates her with a big birthday blowout. “Harry thinks fatherhood’s the best thing ever and wants to show how thankful he is to Meghan for making it happen,” the insider says. “So he’s organizing not one, but two parties!”
For the first affair, the insider says, the couple will take a private jet to Lake Como, Italy, where they’ll meet close pals George and Amal Clooney for a mini vacation. “George and Harry always have a laugh when they’re together,” spills the insider. “Harry’s hired out one of George’s favorite restaurants so they can enjoy a double date in true Hollywood style. Meghan adores Amal and can’t wait to catch up with her pal — they spend hours gossiping and discussing their humanitarian work.” Even baby Archie will be along for the ride. Adds the insider: “George and Amal’s twins will be there to keep him company.” The second gathering will be a more formal fête. “A sit-down dinner cooked by a Michelin-starred chef is planned at Frogmore,” says the source, adding that Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, will join the royals, along with the duchess’ closest friends from L.A. and London.
And it wouldn’t be complete without a special present from her hubby. “Harry’s spent a small fortune on Meghan’s gift,” says the source. “A diamond necklace and matching earrings, which he’s designed himself! He can’t wait to see her face light up when she sees the sparklers.”
