MATTHEW’S NEW ROLE: PROFESSOR!
Some lucky students at the University of Texas’ Austin campus may soon be feeling hot for teacher! Dallas Buyers Club Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey has been appointed a professor in the school’s department of radio, television and film, starting this fall. The actor, who earned a film degree from UT in 1993, has served as a visiting instructor since 2015, and has now developed a course offering a “behind-the-scenes view of each stage of a film’s production,” the university said.
“I have more people who want me to share my experiences now than I did before,” Matthew’s said. “And I go: ‘Yeah, OK, I’ve been doing this for 26 years.… I do have some experience under my belt.’”
The school said they brought Matthew on because of his “outstanding work as a teacher and mentor.” And to that we say, “Alright, alright, alright!”
