Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan: At War Over His Ex Cressida Bonas!

AS PRINCE HARRY GEARS UP TO CELEBRATE HIS FORMER GIRLFRIEND’S NUPTIALS, MEGHAN MARKLE ISN’T HAVING ANY PART OF IT.

The royal couple are not seeing eye to eye when it comes to attending Cressida’s upcoming wedding.

MEGHAN Markle is done playing nice — at least when it comes to Prince Harry’s trail of ex-girlfriends. A Star insider reports that since Harry’s ex, Cressida Bonas, got engaged to real estate developer (and royal pal!) Harry Wentworth-Stanley, the prince’s insistence on attending next year’s nuptials has left Meghan livid. “Meghan’s jealous,” says the insider. “She’s convinced Harry’s exes still have the hots for him. And despite his efforts to reassure her that he’d never look at another woman, she’s saying that, at least for now, she’s refusing to attend that wedding.”

Harry has famously been an amicable splitter-upper, managing to actually stay friendly with not just socialite-actress Cressida (whom he dated from 2012 to 2014) but also his first love, Chelsy Davy, whom he met in 2004 and romanced on and off for seven years. Both women snagged invites to Harry and Meghan’s wedding last year, but Chelsy — who, back in the aughts, was widely predicted to be Harry’s future wife — didn’t make the cut for the afternoon or evening receptions. A source suggests that Meghan, 38, has been uneasy with Harry’s casual friendships with women — especially ones he almost married — and has encouraged him to keep them at arm’s length. “Harry remained close to his exes until Meghan came into the picture and put a stop to it,” says the source, who adds that Meghan saw green when she realized Harry, 34, had an ongoing text relationship with Cressida.

“All the text messages are innocent, but Meghan still feels betrayed,” says the source, explaining that the prospect of attending Cressida’s wedding has become a new source of tension in the Sussexes’ marriage. “Meghan’s fuming that Harry’s already decided he’s going — and in response, she’s refusing to go. She hopes he’ll change his mind, but he’s standing his ground. He thinks very highly of Cressida and is saying he wouldn’t miss her wedding for the world.”

TENSION RISING

With the nuptials still months away, reveals the source, “Meghan’s already coming up with excuses for not attending, from who’s going to look after Archie to the fact that they’ve got so much going on. Harry told her to stop being silly; he doesn’t get what Meghan’s problem is. There’s nothing Harry likes more than a good party — and after being holed up at Frogmore Cottage for months, he wants to regain some of his freedom.”

Harry may have already gotten some of the space he craves, as the source reveals that “wedding-gate, as Harry and Meghan’s friends are calling it,” has put their normally lovey-dovey dynamic on ice. “Things got so heated that at one point they slept in separate bedrooms! Harry’s hoping Meghan will snap out of it, but she’s used to getting her own way. To be honest, she’ll probably end up going — just to keep an eye on Harry.”★
