MELANIE GRIFFITH’S SHOCKING NEW APPEARANCE HAS FRIENDS FEARING SHE’S REACHED THE POINT OF NO RETURN
IT was only last year that Melanie Griffith fessed up about going under the knife — and about how having bad plastic surgery had drastically changed her face. “I didn’t [realize] until people started saying, ‘Oh, my God, what has she done?!’” the actress said, adding that she was seeing a new doctor who “started dissolving all of this s**t. Hopefully, I look more normal now.”
But the Working Girl star, 62, appeared anything but when she was spotted out and about in L.A. on Dec. 13. “It seems like she’s just had a fresh supply of Botox and fillers injected into her forehead, cheeks and lips — and as usual, she’s overdone it,” an insider tells Star. “She’s sworn to her friends that she’s overcome the urge to fix her face, but she’s still obsessed. At this point, she’s practically ruined herself.” While aging can be tough on any actress in Hollywood, it’s taken an especially large toll on Melanie. Her last big movie role was in 2005’s Heartless, and while she’s been doing voice-over work and has had minor movie roles and guest-starring spots on TV here and there, her career’s all but stalled. And in the wake of her 2015 divorce from Antonio Banderas, 59, after 19 years together, she’s been feeling the pain of being single. “Her friends — including Kris Jenner — have offered to fix her up, but she’s too insecure to date anybody,” the pal dishes. “It doesn’t help that Antonio’s girlfriend is 20 years his junior. Melanie’s never had strong selfesteem, and now it’s even worse.” There’s one bright spot on the horizon, though: Banderas, with whom she shares a daughter, Stella, 23, is directing a new film, Akil, and has cast Melanie in the lead. “There’s no word yet on a start date,” the source adds. “In the meantime, her friends are urging her to ease up on the surgery — before it’s too late.”
