PARTYING AWAY THE PAIN

Months after announcing she’d given up alchohol to protect her voice, Adele was spotted partying at the London club G-A-Y in the early hours of Feb. 11. “There was bottle service and she was drinking like a fish,” an onlooker tells Star. “At one point she fell over backwards!”

While clubgoers were thrilled with the “I Drink Wine” singer’s bra-baring turn on the stripper pole, sources say that out-of-control revelry has friends — and her boyfriend, sports agent Rich Paul — worried about the 33-year-old. Notably, she fell off the wagon in the wake of her sudden cancellation of her Las Vegas residency and speculation about the state of her relationship. “She’s partying and boozing as a coping mechanism,” says an insider. “It’s a way of hiding her insecurities.”

As for Rich, a second source says he’s not a fan of party-girl Adele. “He’s very controlled when he drinks,” says the source. “She gets messy and it’s not cute.” ★
