HEATHER and Terry Dubrow are handing out the marriage advice on their new E! series 7 Year Stitch — and some of it is a bit unorthodox. After 25 years and four kids together, their key to a happy union? Prioritize your spouse over your children! “This is going to sound terrible, but our kids are in our life — congratulations, you got born into this family — but you’re just passengers on our journey,” plastic surgeon Terry, 63, tells Star. “Make it about your solid, unified relationship and everything else will fall into place after that.”
The Real Housewife is also excited for her kids to build their own lives away from her. “I’ve always been cognizant of the fact that I get them for this short period of time and then their life as they know it begins,” says the 53-year-old. “I know my job as a mom doesn’t stop, but it changes.”
With their show featuring couples in crisis debuting March 1 (at 10 P.M.), it remains to be seen whether their model will work for others. Jokes Heather, “Maybe getting them to their best self to move on quicker is not horrible either!” ★
