Amanda Bynes has had her life and finances controlled by mom Lynn Bynes. But on Feb. 22, the 35-yearold filed a petition in a California court to terminate the conservatorship. “She believes her condition has improved and protection of the court is no longer necessary,” her attorney said. (In 2014, the troubled actress allegedly started a fire in a neighbor’s driveway, which led to her parents stepping in.) “Amanda admits she went through a rocky period,” a source tells Star. “She claims her life is back on track since removing herself from the toxic Hollywood scene.” Seeing Britney regain her freedom inspired Amanda to fight for her own. “She wants to follow in her footsteps,” continues the insider. “She’s fed up with being monitored around the clock.”
