Lady Mary ROCKS

-

What would the Dowager Countess say? On June 6, Downton Abbey’s Michelle Dockery and Michael Fox (a.k.a. Lady Mary and footman Andrew Parker) took the stage at the Omeara London to debut songs from their folkrock EP, The Watching Silence. The pair began making music together between scenes of the hit costume drama and decided to make it official after the series ended. “Feeling nervous about what’s ahead,” Michelle explained, “suddenly we were just writing music.” The 40-year-old, who has performed both solo and in groups over the years, grew up singing and playing piano in Romford, England. One of her favorite tunes: the Downton Abbey theme! “Having played Lady Mary, you’d think I’d be sick of [it],” she said. “But I’m not, surprisingly. I even play it on the piano, which people find hilarious.” ★
