Nick Jonas’ fatherhood journey has been an emotional one. His daughter, Malti, born via surrogate, was in the NICU for more than 100 days following her Jan.

15 birth. “[It has been] a challenging few months,” the musician, 29, wrote on Instagram in a Mother’s Day tribute to wife Priyanka Chopra. Now that Malti is home, Nick’s been stepping up to the plate, big time. “Diaper-changing was hard at first, but he’s gotten the hang of it,” says a source. “He’s also got feeding time down, too. His confidence as a dad has grown and he’s loving every minute of it.” It’s just the beginning for the star. “Nick wants to be a part of every stage,” ays the source, “and he can’t wait to teach Malti how to ride a ike, and read bedtime stories and watch cartoons together.
