He’s one of the most successful and highest-paid actors in the world, but when Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds is home with wife Blake Lively and their three daughters James, 7, Inez, 5, and 2-year-old Betty, he’s just Dad. “The girls aren’t interested in hearing Ryan talk about work,” says a source. “They just want his time and his undivided attention.”
It’s been a lesson in humility for Ryan, 45. “Raising three daughters has been a crash course on behavior modification,” explains the source. The actor grew up roughhousing with his three brothers — and admits life with three girls is much different. “I’m the youngest of four boys, so for me to have three daughters has just been such a ride,” he’s said.
He had to soften up a bit. “Ryan has learned to be a lot more sensitive and cognizant of their feelings,” says an insider, adding that family life has taught him about what’s really important in life. “Before Blake, Ryan thought he had it made because he could do whatever he wanted,” says the source. “Now, he realizes how shallow he was. Having a family made him less self-centered.”
Blake and the kids come first, no matter what. “I try to be as present as possible,” Ryan has said. “We don’t split up — I shoot movies and my wife shoots movies, and we go travel all over the place and we just all go together. I get to spend a lot of time with my girls.”
