Valerie Bertinelli’s hopes for an amicable split are fading fast now that her ex Tom Vitale is challenging their prenup. The actress, 62, filed for divorce from the financial planner in May, two years after they called time on their 10-year marriage. According to court docs, Tom is not only seeking spousal support, but also wants his ex’s right to it terminated. The 58-year-old is also asking that Valerie pay his attorney’s fees. “She has tried to keep the peace, but Tom seems intent on playing hardball,” reveals a source. “Which is the last thing she needs right now.” After all, the Hot in Cleveland star is still grieving the death of her ex-husband and first love, rocker Eddie Van Halen, who passed away in 2020. They shared a son, Wolfgang, 31. “Val’s still getting over losing Eddie and now Tom is trying to make a cash grab,” the source continues. “It’s a total nightmare any way you look at it.” ★
