Westward Bound
& How the Titanic Brought the World Together
In 1912, an estimated 1,316 passengers from 56 modern-day countries ventured (for the first time for many) into the largely unexplored world of transportation, aboard the Titanic. Gliding across the ocean on a luxury liner was (and is) about as romantic as travel gets, and one of the world’s most famous maiden voyages did not disappoint (at first). Aboard, the passengers, separated by class and their reasons for a voyage, all shared one thing in common — an excitement and hope represented by the Ship of Dreams.
