Third-Class Passenger: Fred Goodwin
Fred and his family were immigrating from Wiltshire, England, to Niagara Falls, New York, for a job at a power station. They planned to cross on a different ship, but, like many, were transferred to the Titanic due to a coal strike. All eight were lost to the sea, and only baby Sidney (inset), 1 ½ years old, was recovered. Called “The Unknown Child” until 2007, DNA testing successfully determined his identity.
