THE BLACK PHONE
Ethan Hawke In theaters now R
Colorado, 1978: A bullied boy, Finney Shaw (Madison Thames), is abducted by a masked serial killer known as “the Grabber” (Hawke). Trapped in the psycho’s basement, Finney dials a black phone that allows him to communicate with the ghosts of the killer’s past victims. Can Finney make it out alive with the help of the kids who didn’t? Based on a short story by Joe Hill (Stephen King’s son!), the tense and twisted horror thriller is like a creepy combination of The Bad News Bears and A Nightmare on Elm Street.
