JOANNA TELLS ALL!
Joanna Gaines wasn’t intending on writing a memoir. “Earlier this year, I started jotting down memories and stories from my past, journaling about things I was still, years later, trying to work through,” the Fixer Upper star posted Aug. 16, adding, “At some point, I realized I was writing a story — my story. The bits and pieces of who I am. It was messy and winding and beautiful.” The result, The Stories We Tell, out Nov. 8, is the 44-year-old’s first solo memoir. With her husband, Chip, the mom of five has built their home improvement business into a $50 million empire with their own TV network and line of products at Target. (She’s also written three books for adults and two kids’ books.) Her latest is by far the most personal for the Kansas-born daughter of a Korean mom and German/LebaneseAmerican dad. “I’m feeling a little bit of everything,” she said. “Nervous, excited, vulnerable, but mostly hopeful.” ★
