WHAT BETTER TIME FOR CELEBS TO DO A PREGNANCY REVEAL THAN ON FASHION’S BIGGEST NIGHT?

They each had a plus-one! Both Serena Williams and Karlie Kloss revealed they’re expecting their second children on the Met Gala red carpet May 1 in NYC. “Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala,” the tennis great, wed to Alexis Ohanian since 2017, posted on Insta before showing off her bump in formfitting Gucci. Meanwhile, model Karlie posted a getting-ready slideshow captioned “Baby’s first Met.”

The Chicago native and her husband, venture capitalist Josh Kushner, are already parents to son Levi, who just turned 2. “They’re excited to be giving Levi a little sibling,” an insider tells Star, adding that the 30-year-old is “around the start of her third trimester.” Not long after the birth of her first child, Karlie called motherhood “the greatest joy I ever knew” but also admitted she wondered how other moms got it done. This time around, she’s taking care of No. 1. “She’s pacing herself with work,” says the insider. “And getting plenty of rest.”

Serena is also enjoying a more serene second pregnancy. In late 2022, she announced — in Vogue, of course — that she was “evolving away from tennis” after a career that netted her seven Wimbledon singles trophies, among other laurels. Her pregnancy with daughter Olympia, 5, was difficult. The 41-year-old suffered a pulmonary embolism after an emergency C-section, followed by a bout of postpartum depression. At the same time she was still competing as a world-class athlete. “Serena is so much happier with the pace of her life right now,” says an insider. “She accomplished everything she ever dreamed as a tennis player and now the same energy and passion are going into the next phase of her life — motherhood.” H
