The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announceme­nts should be submitted via e-mail to life@starkville­dailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publicatio­n and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run on Sundays only. One-time events will run Monday through Friday.

◆ SHS Classes of ‘55, ‘56, ‘57 reunion— Members of all classes are invited to gather for a reunion held at at 6 p.m. the Hilton Garden Inn, 875 Hwy, 12. Dress is dressy-casual.

Monday

◆ Friends of the Library monthly book sale—The sale will take place from noon to 6:00 p.m. at the library.

Tuesday

◆ Active Parenting—Emerson Family Center will host classes on positive resilience and active communicat­ions from 11 a.m. to noon. Elmarie Carr Brooks will be the presenter.

◆ Kiwanis—The group will meet at noon at the Hilton Garden Inn.

◆ Free Childbirth Classes—Emerson Family Resource Center offers free childbirth classes in Oct. Linda C. McGrath, PhD, MCHES, IBCLC-La Leche League Leader, will discuss Parent/Infant Bonding and Breastfeed­ing from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. To register, call 662-320-4607 to register.
