Gwendolyn West, 78, of Laurel, passed away September 26, 2016, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesbur­g.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Memory Chapel with burial to follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery. Rev. Mark Anderson will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday, at Memory Chapel.

Mrs. West was retired from the National Bank of Commerce in Starkville. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Laurel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton W. Walker and Eulis Crum Walker; and by her first husband, Dr. Benjamin C. Dilworth.

Survivors include her husband, Coyt “Bud” West, Jr. of Laurel; son, Benjamin Walker Dilworth of London, England; two daughters, Rebecca Shurden of Kentucky and Glenda Dilworth Goodnite of Senatobia; two stepdaught­ers, Dana Chamblee of Starkville, and Dinah Dueitt of Hattiesbur­g; eleven grandchild­ren, Deidre, Amy, Ben, Adam, Richard “Bubba”, Ben, Rachel, Ashley, Allison, Amber, and Mikhail; six great grandchild­ren, Charlotte, Sara, Ashlee, Camden, Jaydon, and Blake; and one sister, Mary Frances Gregory of Granbury, TX.

Pallbearer­s will be her grandsons, Ben Shurden, Adam Shurden, Mikhail Davis, Ben Gibbs, Lawrence Higgs, and Garrett Moore.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 420 North Fifth Avenue, Laurel, MS 39440; Saint Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or to Mt. Olive Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, Hwy 29 South, Ellisville, MS 39437.
