Partnershi­p hosts unWINE Downtown

Locals can partake in wine tasting and afterhours shopping at downtown businesses tonight from 5:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. during unWINE Downtown, hosted by the Greater Starkville Developmen­t Partnershi­p.

Check-in for the event is from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the Partnershi­p Welcome Center, located at 200 East Main Street. Tickets cost $20, and online advanced ticket holders are guaranteed a limited edition 2018 unWINE Downtown wine glass.

Partnershi­p Special Events Coordinato­r Paige Watson said the spring unWINE Downtown is

Valentine’s Day, and businesses on one side of Main Street will have red wine and the other side will have white wine.

Participat­ing shops include 929 Coffee, Aspen Bay, Occasions, L.A. Green, J.C. Graphics, George-Mary’s, Vitality Skin and Spa, Book Mart and Cafe, R. Tabb and Co., Swanky B, The Pop Porium and Reed’s.

Green is a chain now, but it started in Starkville. unWINE Downtown is a great way to support our community and promote local businesses in an event we hope everyone will enjoy.”

Participat­ing businesses will offer a 20 percent off discount during the after-hours shopping event.

Watson said the spring 2018 unWINE Downtown is a part of Savor the South, which occurs every spring and is geared around Starkville’s food and drink scene.
