Postseason future clouded up for Bulldogs after loss to Vols
With one big loss, Mississippi State's NCAA Tournament hopes are now on life support.
The Bulldogs fell 76-54 to Tennessee on Tuesday night at Humphrey Coliseum. It was a game that, should MSU have won it, likely would have put State in the driver's seat for an at-large berth to the big dance.
Instead, the Bulldogs are now facing an uphill climb with just one regular season game and the Southeastern Conference Tournament remaining.
“This was a very tough loss to take against a really good team,” Mississippi State head coach Ben Howland said.
The Bulldogs now likely need a win on Saturday at LSU and a deep run in the SEC Tournament to have a shot at the school's first NCAA Tournament appearance in nine years.
