stay in the hunt for the SEC regular season title on Tuesday and they did just that. Tennessee hit 15 of its 22 shots in the second half for a blistering 68.2 percent and finished 56.3 percent for the team.
It was a matter of the Vols playing with a purpose, a championship in mind and did very well.
The Bulldogs had something on the line as well, but did not play as well. They only shot 39.2 percent from the field (20-of-51). That number was not going to beat Tennessee on Tuesday night.
The door may have closed a bit on the chances MSU has to make the NCAA Tournament, but it's not closed all of the way either.
There will be still time for the Bulldogs
to respond to see if that crack can open a little wider before the committee makes its selections in a couple of weeks.
