Lady Jackets win in softball
The Starkville Lady Yellowjackets got off to a quick start and poured it on late as they defeated the Louisville Lady Wildcats 11-3 at home on Monday night.
After SHS scored one run to take the lead in the first inning, Louisville answered to tie the game in the fourth.
The Lady Jackets took control of the outing by scoring seven times in the fifth inning and added three more tallies in the sixth.
All the Lady Wildcats could manage was one run in the sixth and one in the seventh.
Starkville did all of its damage with only three hits with one each from A.P. Brooks, Dy'tavia McClellan and Chyna Hornburger.
Anna Rae Taylor went the distance in the circle for the Lady Jackets and gave up three runs (none earned) with 11 strikeouts and no walks.
Starkville will play at Choctaw County tonight. College Basketball
