Lady Chargers clinch district

ACKERMAN – The Choctaw County Lady Chargers defeated Charleston 11-1 at home Monday night to clinch the Class 3A, Region 3 championship.

"We started out a little slow, but we picked it up in the this inning," Choctaw County coach Lance Thomas said.

Lizzie Thomas was the winning pitcher and gave up one earned run.

Allie Brown led the offense with a double and scored twice, while seniors Brysa Maxwell, Ayana Taylor and Laiana Cork also picked up hits.

Choctaw County improved to 10-4 overall and 8-0 in the division. The Lady Chargers host Starkville tonight.
