The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announcements should be submitted via e-mail to life@starkvilledailynews. com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publication and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run on Sundays only. One-time events will run Monday through Friday.

◆Celebrity Wait Night — The Pilot Club of Starkville is holding a Celebrity Wait Night to raise funds for purchasing a water feature to add to the splash pad at the JL King Memorial Park in Starkville. The event will be held at Sweet Peppers Deli on April 19 5:00-8:00 p.m. All tips and a Silent Auction will benefit the splash pad.
◆NARFE Meeting — The National Active & Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE) will meet April 26 at the Hilton Garden Inn on Highway 12 East in Starkville. Doors open at 11 a.m. and lunch is served at 11:30. The guest speaker will be Kim Vance, Vice-President of Pondera Financial Group in Ridgeland. ◆ Delfest 2018— On April 21 from 6:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. Dave’s Dark Horse Tavern in Starkville will host Delfest 2018. Celebrate music and art while providing support to our local community with proceeds going to the Del Rendon Foundation. Musical lineup includes Flathead Ford, HotSauce, Jimmy Redd, Jenn Henderson, KannaWermz, Shank and Maim, CasterBunch, and TuffSkins.
◆ SHS Class of 1958 Reunion— The class of ‘58 will hold its 60th class reunion April 21st at 2 p.m. until at Ann and John McWhorter’s barn. Other classes are invited to attend from 2 p.m.-5 p.m.
◆ Book Mart and Cafe Book Signing— Lawrence Robinson, author of “Surviving the War and College Roommates,” will be at the Book Mart and Cafe for a book signing on April 21 from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
