Remembering those who served

Starkville Daily News - - FORUM -

I enjoyed the coverage by The Starkville Daily News, about the honoring of our Oktibbeha County people, who served our country in the military.

We need to always remember them, and their families, because, they gave so much.

The old obituary, in the link below, is not an Oktibbeha County person, but is a person, whose family was involved with people in Starkville, and many other places.

This young Marine, from Quitman, Mississippi, was killed in Iraq, in 2007.

After he was killed, his family adopted the K9 dog, Lex, who was injured in the same explosion, in which Dustin was killed

His family, and Lex, visited many nursing homes, and veterans' homes with programs.

His parents, and grandparents, and Lex, visited The Starkville First Baptist Church, a few years ago, presenting a program.

I think the people of Oktibbeha County remember all our veterans, all the year.
