Bulldog Burger Co. featuring MacWalk-Off Milkshake

- BY MARY RUMORE life@starkvilledailynews.com

After the Mississippi State University Bulldogs baseball team punched their ticket, the whole town went bananas.

One business in particular, Bulldog Burger Company in the Cotton District, is featuring a banana MacWalkOff Milkshake throughout the weekend to celebrate the team's trip to Omaha.

The MacWalk-Off Milkshake is made of vanilla ice cream with fresh banana, topped with whipped cream, cinnamon and banana shakes.

"It's pretty simple," Bulldog Burger Company General Manager Ian Few said. "We're also thinking of doing a spiked one with RumChata. We always do the spiked milkshakes for adults."

Few said the idea for the

milkshake came from Steve Robertson, the beat writer for MSU for Scout 247 and host of Bulldog Sports Radio on campus.

"He mentioned Friday night or Saturday that we should have a dessert named that so we just came up with the banana shake and used that as the name," Few said.

Few said the milkshake has been a hit with customers so far this week.

"It's been really popular so far, and we've had a lot of feedback from it on our social media this week," Few said. "We've bought a lot of bananas this week and are prepared to serve a lot of those."

Few said Bulldog Burger Company will be showing the game at 7 p.m. Saturday, and will continue to feature the milkshakes throughout the weekend. MSU will take on Washington in the first round of the College World Series.

"If we win we will have to continue it, because that's how superstition works with baseball," Few said. "We don't want to get blamed for Mississippi State's downfall or anything like that."
