Peacock named assistant chief of police at The W
COLUMBUS, Miss.-the Mississippi University for Women Police Department has announced Lamar Peacock as assistant chief of police.

The Columbus native also said he was excited to work with the MUW community and the great people who make the campus a close-knit environment.
“As assistant chief, I will continue to be dutiful, diligent and will work closely with Chief Vibrock, the officers and dispatchers of MUW P.D., as well as the faculty, staff and students to ensure a safe environment,” said Peacock.
He has been a member of the MUW Police Department since 2016. Peacock also has served as a patrol officer for the Columbus Police Department, chief marshal for Caledonia Marshall's Office and a deputy sheriff for Lowndes County Sheriff's Department.
