A Starkville woman is behind bars for an armed robbery and burglary as Oktibbeha County deputies continue the search for a second man connected to the incident.

OCSO Lt. Jon Davis said 26-yearold Courtney Clay was charged for assisting 25-year-old Joshua Norman in an armed robbery and burglary that occurred on Feb. 6 off of County Lake Road in the early morning hours around 1 a.m.

Davis said Norman is still at large and considered armed and dangerous.

Clay, who was enrolled in a pre-trial intervention program, was expected to have bond set on Friday.

According to Oktibbeha County Circuit Court records, Clay entered the pre-trial agreement after being indicted last April for malicious mischief after causing more than $1,000 of damage, but less than $5,000 to a 2006 Ford Taurus owned by Robert Rowan.

She officially entered the program on Jan. 30 and was scheduled to report to the pre-trial diversion coordinator on Thursday, Feb. 14.

She had an initial court appearance on Friday, where bond was set at $100,000 per count.

Norman, who Davis said is originally from the Jackson area, is not stranger to run-ins with local law enforcement.

He was indicted by an Oktibbeha County grand jury for armed robbery in 2009. According to Oktibbeha County Circuit Court records, Norman robbed a man by taking his money after threatening the victim with a beer bottle.

The burglary and larceny charges were retired and Norman was sentenced in 2011 to eight years in prison, with five years of post release supervision. Court records indicate Norman was released last April, but a bench warrant was issued by Circuit Judge Jim Kitchens on Jan. 18 for Norman, who is accused of violating the terms of his suspended sentence.
