SA baseball opener canceled

Today's scheduled Starkville Academy baseball game at Washington School was canceled.

Now the season opener for the Volunteers will take place at Hartfield Academy on Thursday. A varsity game will be played at Smith-wills Stadium at 6 p.m.

"It's all good," Starkville Academy coach Thomas Berkery said Monday about the delay of getting the season underway. "It gives us another day to get in here and attack. These olders guys have been through it enough so they get it."
