Lady Wolverines get victory

BRUCE – The East Webster Lady Wolverines got their time at the Class 2A, Region 2 Tournament started on a winning note Tuesday night by defeating Leflore County 63-25.

Whitney Winter led the Lady Wolverines with 15 points, while Lauren Graves added 14 points.

East Webster improved its overall record to 20-9 and advanced to play Northside tonight at 7 p.m.

The Wolverines had a bye in the boys bracket and their first game is also against Northside today at 5:30 p.m.

In other scores from the Class 2A, Region 2 Tournament, the Eupora Eagles dropped a pair of games to end their season. The girls dropped a tough 36-35 decision to Bruce, while the Eagles also lost to the host Trojans 85-64.

From the Class 3A, Region 4 Tournament in Aberdeen, the Choctaw County Chargers split outings. The boys defeated Hatley 45-44 and play Nettleton today. The Lady Chargers had their season end with a 45-29 loss to Hatley.
