SPD: Westside Market shooting ruled accidental
Police say a individual accidentally shot themselves, causing minor injuries, before police responded to the call at a local convenience store Sunday night.
The Starkville Police Department said in a press release Monday that officers responded at about 7:34 p.m. Sunday evening to a call of someone who had been shot at Westside Market at 141 Westside Drive.
Investigators determined the gunshot wound was accidentally selfinflicted by the victim. The victim's identity has not been released at this time and no other injuries were reported from the incident.
The victim was treated at OCH Regional Medical Center and released.
The shooting remains under investigation.
