The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announcements should be submitted via e-mail to life@starkvilledailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publication and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run on Sundays only. One-time events will run Monday through Friday.

◆ Rotary — The Starkville Rotary Club meets at 11:45 a.m. at the Starkville Country Club.
◆ EMCC Launch Pad — EMCC Launch Pad offers free classes in Adult Education, Workkeys Prep, ACT Prep, Employability Skills Training, and Basic Skills Training. ◆ Emerson Free Childbirth Classes— The Emerson Family Center offers free childbirth
classes each Tuesday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in February, June, and October. First week’s topic: Parent/infant Bonding and Breastfeeding- Nadia Mcclelland, La Leche League Leader. ◆ Magnolia Amateur Radio Club, will be having a day in the park event at Mckee Park on July 13th from 8:30 a.m. - until over. This is a non-profit group and public is invited. There will be a Get On The Air (GOTA) station setup where you can get on the mic and talk to someone who may be down the street, across the country, or around the world. It’s a great experience for kids as well and they’ll really enjoy listening to someone making a CW (morse code) contact.
