Woodruff, Hudson continue sharp outings
Major League Baseball is going strong as sports have been returning to the forefront during the middle of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Aside from a couple of teams in the league, there have been no major outbreaks and former Mississippi State baseball players are getting a chance to showcase their talent as we enter midway through the schedule.
The Bulldogs had 12 players that were on the 60man pool that teams were allowed to have for summer training and they have 10 on MLB rosters at the moment. Not only are the players on the rosters, they’re making a major impact as baseball has come back.
For this week, MSU’S former pitchers were led by strong starts by Brandon Woodruff and Dakota Hudson and the five total pitchers combined to go 2-0, gave up just four runs in 19 innings with 21 strikeouts and five walks. Nate Lowe also broke out with the bat and Brent Rooker had his season prematurely come to an end.
