MSU athletic venues reduce capacity further

A continuing spike in coronaviru­s (COVID-19) cases around the state of Mississipp­i has caused more adjustment­s to sporting events by Governor Tate Reeves than ever before.

For the last few months, the Governor has regulated no more than 25% capacity at the stadiums in the state. Mississipp­i State has been working under that mandate throughout the football season and the first few games of the basketball schedule, but now even fewer Bulldog fans will be able to watch games.

Despite the struggles that the pandemic has placed upon local businesses, Mandee Lewis, co-owner of the shop, has been very thankful to just have the store doors open.

“Honestly, I feel like we have been very blessed with all of the local support we have been getting,” Lewis said. “I feel like everybody is really pushing to shop local, and the college kids leaving so early for Christmas has kind of hurt, because they do bring in a lot of business, but overall, I feel like we are pretty consistent.

“We are definitely working different with masks on, trying to stay safe and offering Germ-x at the front counter, but, I’m just glad that we can have our doors open, in the summer when we had to close and do curbside, that would be extremely hard.”
